Good Monday to you all. Welcome to another fun filled recap of The Walking Dead. This is your Monday Morning Zombie Hack # 5. Again I will recap EVERYTHING. SOOOOO...

SPOILER WARNING!!!

We start out with Rick and Daryl getting out of a car driven by one legged Herschel. Yeah that was kind of weird. Daryl and Rick get out of the car and start investigating a farm I'm assuming with Silos and barns. It's as if they are making sure no one or nothing is there. Herschel also has a gun attached to his leg. The scene is done entirely without dialogue. Soon they enter a darkened barn where a table has been placed. And in walks the Governor out of the shadows with his hands up. Rick does not appear to be to happy to see him. End scene.

Daryl heads outside as Herschel drives up. Rick and the Governor sit down to hammer out a treaty it appears. But how did they get to this point. We don't know. I know Andrea was suggesting it a few eps back, but they never really showed them agreeing to the meeting, but I guess you just have to seay. Sometime between the episodes they set up a meet. So Rick and the Governor start chatting trying to come to some common ground. Meanwhile a truck drives up with Andrea, Milton, and Martinez and Andrea goes into the barn surprised to hear that the Governor was all ready at the meeting.

Rick suggests an even split at the river. We stay on our side, you stay on yours everyone is happy. The Governor says no. Andrea tries to convince him to accept but he dismisses her as does Rick. When she leaves Rick asks what the Governor wants. He says the Jail's complete surrender. Andrea is pissed that she was dismissed, but then they hear some walkers coming and Martinez, Daryl, and Andrea kill them. Martinez and Daryl are trying to one up each other. Soon they reach some common ground and share cigarettes. Meanwhile Andrea learns from Herschel what happened to Maggie in Woodbury, and Milton wants to see Herschel's stump out of pure curiosity.

Rick and the Governor continue to chat, ancedotes are told, they drink some Whiskey and the two of them play a cat and mouse came at the treaty table trying to feel each other out. The Governor then drops what he really wants is that Rick gives him Michonne. If he does that the Jail will be spared. Rick comtemplates it, but sticks it a little to the Governor. They decide that Rick will think about the offer and they will meet again in the same place in 2 days. Then they will go from there.

At the jail, Merle is going stir crazy because he wanted to go with his brother so that he could just kill the Governor and end this whole thing, but everyone at the jail convinces him not to, except Michonne. Merle notices this and chats with Michonne to try and talk her into coming with him to kill the governor because he sees in her a true killer, not like the others who are killing to survive. Michonne is not immediately discounting this. Meanwhile while on guard duty Glenn and Maggie have a chat and Maggie decides it is time to jump Glenn's bones, so they have sex in a closet.

Rick and the gang come back and Rick tells them that they are going to war. Glenn has been prepping for this and is setting the jail up as a fort. Rick then chats with Herschel. He tells Herschel that the Governor will not bother them if they give over Michonne. But they both know that he will torture and kill her. But Rick is considering the deal since he wants to protect his family. Herschel tries to reason with him but the two are sort of stuck. Meanwhile the Governor tells Matinez and Milton that regardless of the answer Rick gives, they will attack them at the meet in two days. He doesnt tell Andrea who thinks that something is not quite right. Milton also starts to doubt the Governor as well.

The episode was another slow one. Again building the suspense for the inevitable war that will break out between the two. And it made sense. Before war, try to come to an agreement. The one thing that really got me about this episode was how well it was directed. From the camera angles, to the use of lighting throughout the whole episode. It was gorgeously shot and made a standard run of the mill talking episode more interesting to watch. Kudos to David Boyd. The previews look as if things are picking up. Seeing as how there are only 3 episodes left in the season. It better pick up soon.

MONDAY MORNING ZOMBIE HACK # 4
EPISODE 3.12: CLEAR

WRITTEN BY: SCOTT M. GIMPLE
DIRECTED BY: TRICIA BROCK
ORIGINALLY AIRED 3/3/2013

Hello and welcome to another Monday Morning Zombie Hack, on a Monday! The following is a recap of the most recent episode of The Walking Dead. To me one of, if not the best episode of the season so far. Be forewarned I recap EVERYTHING soooooo

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!

This episode was a change of pace episode for the season. Just focused on a road trip that included Rick, Carl, and Michonne. On the road they pass a hitchhiker desperately trying to get them to pull over, but they are in a hurry and they have trust issues and hey, you don't pick up hitchhikers. They get stuck in the mud trying to go around an abandoned car where they are set upon by a group of zombies. They clean house and get the car unstuck. As they are driving away you see the hitchhiker again yelling for them.

They soon arrive in a town that we learn is Rick and Carl's hometown. Rick wants to raid his police stations weapon closets so they can have plenty of guns and ammo to take on the Governor. When they get there we discover the weapons have all disappeared. Probably stolen. Heading into town they discover a number of booby traps to keep the zombies at bay and graffiti around and are soon shot at by someone in a police riot gear helmet. A shootout occurs and eventually Carl shoots the gunman who falls down. But he is not dead just unconcious. He had on body armor. So they unmask the gunman and learn it is Morgan the black gentleman who with his son helped Rick recover in the pilot of the tv series. We have sort of lost track of him, as has Rick who had not attempted to contact him in almost 10 months. They take him to his hideout where they discover chalkboards of writings, some ravings of Morgan, a map of the area with marks on it stating what has happened to the area. It appears Morgan has been doing recon on the neighborhood to see what is safe and what isnt.

Carl says he wants to get a crib for Judith AKA Little Asskicker and Michonne goes with him leaving Rick to look after Morgan who is still unconcious. They make their way through town when Carl walks past the baby store, Michonne figures he is going somewhere else and follows him to protect him and help if need be. Carl is being a right pain saying he doesnt need help. They come to a restaurant and look inside, there are walkers inside. Michonne devises a plan to keep them occupied as Carl goes in to grab what he really wants. But of course all does not go as planned and the walkers swarm Michonne and Carl.

Morgan awakes and starts shouting and raving at Rick, Rick is trying to calm him down to talk to him. Morgan does not appear to recognize him. Morgan stabs him in the shoulder and Rick knocks him down again and holds a gun to him. Morgan eventually regains his senses and recognizes Rick. He then starts to yell at Rick, saying that Rick never kept his promise of keeping in touch with him. Rick counters with he found his family and they had been further away from the area and reaching the max limit of the walkie talkie. We learn that Morgan's son Duane who was in the pilot, was killed by Morgan's wife and Duane's mom, who Morgan could not kill earlier, so he blames himself for his son's death. I think he finally killed both his wife and son, but now he was alone and slowly going mad. Rick, begins to see that this could easily be him, and tries to talk him into coming with them to the Prison, while at the same time working out his own issues with madness. Morgan refuses to go, not wanting to see anymore death.

Michonne and Carl escape from the restaurant, but Carl's prize is still inside. Michonne asks Carl to trust her, and that she will get his prize for him. Carl who does not trust her relunctantly does, and soon Michonne returns with the prize. A photo of Rick, Lori, adn young Carl eating dinner at the restaurant. He says he wants Judith to know who her mom was. Michonne also grabbed a piece of artwork, a rainbow cat statue which she likes and the two leave the restaurant.

Michonne and Carl see Rick helping Morgan clean his booby traps and also packing up the car with a number of guns and ammo. They ask if Morgan is coming and he says no. They load up the crib which they went back and got and Carl mentions that Michonne may be one of them, which is as good of a thing to say. Michonne talks to Rick saying she knows he is seeing things, and that she had seen her dead ex boyfriend a number of times early on and that it is fairly normal. Rick nods and the trio get back in the car and drive away. As they drive back they see the hitchhiker's body torn to shreds, but they stop and grab his backpack and drive off. END

This episode was brillantly acted by the 4 leads, adds some much needed character bits to Michonne, answers a lingering question from Season 1, has some dark humor in it, and also we see the distrust and paranoia of this crew. It also appears that Rick has gotten over any of his issues with Michonne and is beginning to make her feel more like family. Carl grows to and also brings you back down to the fact that he is still a little boy who misses his mother. It was a slow paced, brillantly written episode. What's cool is the writer of this episode will be the showrunner next season and is writing another episode this season. If this is what he does, the show is in Great hands.

MONDAY MORNING ZOMBIEHACK #3
THE WALKING DEAD EPISODE 3.11 I AIN'T A JUDAS

WRITTEN BY ANGELA KANG
DIRECTED BY: GREG NICOTERO

HI and welcome to this week"s Monday Morning Zombiehack on Saturday.

Be forewarned I will be talking about everything.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

We start out with Rick and his crew trying to get back some sembalance of normalcy after the brutal attack of the Governor. Everyone is shaken up and Rick feels he needs to step away and get his head together. Herschel however yells at him to get his head back in the game since they need him to lead them. There is talk of them leaving the jail since it is not safe. Rick goes off to take watch. Meanwhile the Governor is beginning to build an army to attack and take over the jail when Andrea comes in and demands to know if the governor attacked the jail. He said he was going to negotiate with them and they opened fire first. Andrea also demands that she be allowed to go to the jail unarmed to negotiate. The governor tells her she is to valuable in Woodbury and if she goes to dont even bother coming back. Meanwhile he also tells her he is building a militia to protect themselves not attack the prison again. Andrea is a little hesitant to believe him, but storms off.

Carl approaches Rick and tells him he should give up leading the group since he needs a rest. Let Herschel and Daryl lead. Meanwhile Herschel chats with Merle about the bible and he surprises Herschel and all the viewers that he actually knows a bible verse. We also learn Merle has some military in him as well.  Glenn is still stuck on assassinating the governor and Carol pays a visit to Daryl to welcome him back. Merle also apparently is trying to rebuild bridges with the various members of the group including Michonne.

Andrea confides in Milton that she needs his help to cover up her leaving to go to the jail. Milton does not want to get involved but Andrea practically bulies him into helping, and then asks him not to tell the Governor. So what does Milton do? Tell the governor. He tells Milton to help Andrea. So off to the woods they go to get a walker and turn him into a pet like Michonne had done. Andrea learned that having a pet zombie while a big responsibility also helps keep other walkers away. While de arming and de fanging a walker they run into Tyreese and his crew! Milton agrees to take them to Woodbury while Andrea walks to the jail with the pet walker.

On guard duty, Carl sees Andrea approaching. They let her in but treat her like a hostile. Frisking her, and holding her at gunpoint. She tells them what the governor says and thye tell her what is actually happening. She doesnt quite believe them since she is well Andrea. She then gets reacquanited with everyone learning what has happened in the past 6 months. Carol suggests a great plan for Andrea to kill the Governor, sleep with him then kill him. Michonne gets her digs in at her as well. Which let's face it are well deserved. Andrea then tells them she is going back, and as a sign of good faith and their old friendship, th group give her a car and a gun. She goes back to Woodbury.

In Woodbury Tyreese and his crew get acquainted with the Governor who learns they were in the jail, Milton asks them if they could remember the layout and they said they will try. They are welcomed into Woodbury with open arms. Afterwads the governor goes to his room to watch his zombie heads, oh wait he cant anymore that is why he seems depressed. Andrea arrives and tells him what she did. They have sex and the governor falls asleep. Andrea grabs a knife but decides not to kill her loverman.

Meanwhile in the jail. The group who are running out of supplies are just chilling. Beth sings a song. While she sings, a more lucid, leaderly Rick as a plan. He, Michonne, and Carl are going to do some surrveillance and see if they can get more supplies while Daryl, Merle, Maggie, and Glenn watch over the others.

The episode was pretty good. Light on action, but that's ok when the story is interesting. In the back of my mind, I am wondering if Michonne, Herschel, and Glenn may have convinced Tyreese and his crew to be spies or plants in Woodbury for them. The conversation they had with the Governor seemed a little put on as if to pique his interest. We shall see. All in all it is good seeing Rick coming out of his psychosis, and Andrea is still annoying.  Again, sorry for the lateness, should not happen again.

THE MONDAY MORNING ZOMBIE HACK # 2

THE WALKING DEAD: EPISODE 3.10 HOME

2/18/13

WRITTEN BY NICHOLE BEATTIE

DIRECTED BY SEITH MANN

Welcome to Monday Morning Zombie Hack # 2. I will be recapping the Sunday February 17th , 2013 episode of The Walking Dead. Be forewarned I cover everything.
SPOILER ALERT.

Rick continues his descent into Madness, while on watch he sees the ghost of Lori looking at her grave. In a nice piece of score music, Rick approaches the grave but Lori is gone. Then he sees her outside the jail so he follows her. Eventually she appears in all her glory on a small wooden bridge outside of the jail.

Cut to Andrea being told by the governor that what she did keeping the people in Woodbury was a good thing and she should take over for him since he has not been the same since he lost his daughter. Andrea of course buys this and the Governor goes to find Milton his tech guy to tell him that he is going away for a bit and to keep an eye on Andrea because he does not know if he can trust her.  Andrea finds Milton later and asks him where the governor went, Milton in is weaslely way says he's making a run, but is very vague about what kind of run. This finally hits Andrea as strange so she goes to the front gate and asks some of the people up there

where some of the guards are and they pretty much ignore her. So much for being the Governess. Andrea then disappears for the rest of the episode.

Daryl and Merle are just walking around the woods and Merle continues to berate Daryl saying being with Rick and the gang has made him soft and he has lost his edge. Daryl ignores Merle while they continue to argue over trying to figure out where they are. They hear some screams and come upon a group of people speaking Spanish being attacked by walkers, oh and there is a baby crying. Daryl being the good guy goes to try and save the day, while Merle bitches and moans and slowly follows him. Once on the bridge Daryl starts taking out zombie after zombie and Merle begrudgingly helps them. Daryl then has probably the best kill of the season so far when he slams the head of a zombie in a hatchback door. NICE! The Spanish speakers are freaked out and Merle doesnt help the cause by trying to steal some of their food. Eventually Daryl points his Crossbow at Merle and tells the group to leave in their cars and one of the cars runs over the head of a dead zombie. Merle and Daryl get into a skirmish and we learn that Their father abused them in some way. Daryl decides to say to hell with Merle and leaves to go back to the jail with his real family. Merle not being able to go back to Woodbury, and does not want to be alone follows him.

Glenn has decided to take over the role of leader since Rick has gone bye bye and has disappeared. He tries to get Michonne to join him in an assassination attempt on the Governor by Herschel eventually talks sense into him. Glenn then says he will take Maggie to find out where the walkers are coming into the jail and figure out a way to close it up so the Governor and his goons can't use it when they get ready to attack the jail. But Maggie is pissed at him and finally reveals to him what the Governor did to her. Herschel again talks to Glenn and asks him why he feels he has to prove himself to everyone. Glenn then leaves alone to do some scouting in one of the working minivans.

Herschel notices Rick wandering outside the jail and tries to convince him to come back in and get some rest because they need him. He tells Herschel what he has been seeing and decides he needs to figure some stuff out. Meanwhile Carole and Axel (the prisoner who was in the jail when they got there) start chatting more and become friends when Axel is suddenly shot in the head and killed instantly, which is odd since you know if he was shot anywhere else and died you have one more zombie in the jail to contend with. The shot came from the Governor who has come along with a small army and has started to shoot up the jail. Everyone grabs guns and returns fire, including Rick on the outside. However a van smashes through the front gates of the Jail and releases a number of walkers into the jail. So now the jail crew has to take on the zombies and the small army. Michonne gets her swords out and hacks and slashes and everyone starts shooting. They get I think two of the the Governor's men. Then they drive off as Glenn approaches. The crew is still trying to kill the zombies, Glenn grabs Herschel and gets him in the car. Rick meanwhile is pinned by two walkers when an arrow kills one of the walkers. Here comes Daryl and Merle back to the jail and they kill more Zombies. All Rick can do now is stare at the fence, because now he knows that war has come.

The episode started off a lot like last week's episode, kind of slow and setting up more plot points, but when the preliminary attack on the jail started it was kind of unexpected and kicked the excitement of the episode to 11. While I am glad that Daryl is back with his real family, I felt he should have been apart from them for a while longer. Though that is just my opinion. Also I was kind of puzzled by the disappearance of Tyreese and his crew. Yeah at the end of the last episode Rick told them to get out, but I didn't think they would just go without a mention. Plus why introduce the character, who is a fan favorite in the comics to only make him a bit player and to be honest kind of useless to the plot because his crew did nothing. Not the fault of them but of the writers. Here's hoping we find out if they are gone for good, or if it was just a momentary disappearance and they will reappear. I hope they reappear because they are interesting characters and need something more to do. Next week is going to be tough since I watch the OSCARS every year. So i am still figuring out what I am going to do. I may tape the episode and watch it later. If that is the case Monday Morning Quarter Hack may be late next week, or i may just skip out of the OSCARS for an hour. We'll see. Either way you will get a Monday Morning Zombie Hack next week, just it may be Tuesday or Wednesday Morning Zombie Hack. Or maybe I will get a guest writer. We'll see.
